WOW!! What an amazing weekend it's been for our girls at nationals this weekend. From our youngest competitors Ariane and Gwen competing in Performance 1 against tough competition they did amazingly well showing off who they are and what they can do. What a great experience they have had and coming away with lots of smiles! Our Performance 2 girls gaining 10th place as a team for our small island, what an achievement. With good routines all around. A huge congratulation Jess winning two golds for her Beam and Range, both routines performed with elegance and beauty. Lastly our Performance 3 gymnast Lora did exceptionally well with a huge all round score AND securing the IOM another two golds for Bars and Range. What an amazing weekend they have had and they have all done so well. Well done girls, everyone at the club is so proud of you and your achievements. Keep up the good work.

EVGC hosted the Island Grades this year. All gymnasts showcased beautiful routines. Special mention to the girls who qualified to represent the Isle of Man in the National Finals in Stoke-on-Trent: Ariane & Gwen in Performance 1, Chelsea, Ava, Jess & Lara in Performance 2 and Lora in Performance 3. Well done girls - what a fantastic achievement!

EVGC hosted the Invitationals this year. It was a day full of beautiful gymnastics, creative costumes and lots of fun!

What a great experience for these gymnasts competing against the best in the UK for Classic Challenge! They showed some great skills and were a super supportive team! Always very nerve-wracking competing away from your home gym let alone on another land mass 😅 The girls gained lots of positives from the experience and are determined to build on what they've learnt! Highlights: Overall - Lora was our highest scorer coming 28th out of a huge 84 competitors despite still recovering from a bad illness 🎉 Vault - all managed to successfully land their vaults with 4 out of 6 tsuking! Bars - all successfully got through their routines with NO FALLS 🎉 Lora managed to claim joint 9th technically but 21st on the scoreboard (lots of joint scores 🙈) Beam - Ava was up first and managed to stick her beam routine claiming joint 19th technically 28th on the scoreboard (again lots of joint scores) Confidence is slowing building with Team IOM at the competitions. Floor - Most successfully competed their floor with lots of new skills added in! The girls really tried to show off their dance! Well done girls!

A whopping 40 gymnasts, 7 coaches and 3 judges travelled to Newcastle to compete at the annual Spooky Spectacular competition in Newcastle. The girls competed against around 400 other gymnasts from across the UK. The girls were great ambassadors for EVGC, with many parents mentioning how lovely to girls bonded from late teens to our minis. ​ The girls collected a total of 41 special judges' awards, and secured 13 top six place finishes (10 gymnasts secured all-around finishes) - wonderful achievement!​ A special mention to Lucie, Indie, Edie and Zarina who came away with Gold medals!

The gymnasts have been building up to their first competition this season for a while now - so they were all eager to get going. We had gymnasts compete in all of the categories hosted at this years IOM Champs, so we are incredibly proud of the huge family we are continuing to build across many ages. We had some great results this year, achieving some personal victories whether that be competing a new skill or just having the confidence to get out and compete again! Some gymnasts even gained overall trophies for their consistency and high scores.

Team IOM travelled to the north of the UK on a remote Island called Orkney. With quite a long week ahead, the girls had to pace themselves in order to ensure they could last the high intensity week.   This year, the SET competition was very difficult with so many other islands increasing their execution and choreography. After a challenging competition, the girls secured an amazing 2nd place. The Faroe Islands had stunning choreography which helped them gain a 2.0 lead - very impressive.  In the SET competition, Elise achieved an individual bronze medal on bars and Amara with a silver on vault. The competition continued later in the week with the FIG round. The girls produced their skills well and hit some personal bests :D Amara shined this year showing consistency throughout the whole competition achieving joint GOLD overall and gold on beam. Elise managed to secure a bronze on vault, showcasing two different vaults.  Apart from being in the gym a great deal of the week, the girls were able to explore the local town and pop on the bus to see some other sports. It was great to be a part of a full Island Games, experiencing the opening and closing ceremony and being with friends from other sports.

Ava, Lora, Jess and Chelsea represented the Isle of Man at the British Gymnastics National Finals travelling all the way to Stoke-on-Trent. The quartet, aged between nine and 11 years old, delivered outstanding performances on a national stage and brought a couple of medals back to the island for their efforts, which hasn't happened for a very long time! The National Finals for the performance grades is a qualifier-only event, bringing together the top five gymnasts from each of the 14 regions across the UK.​ Simply qualifying is a major achievement and, competing at the minimum allowed age for their grade, the Isle of Man girls rose to the occasion with poise and skill. In performance grade one, Jessica Shannon, Ava Quirk and Chelsea D'Ottavio competed as a team. Normally, a full team consists of five gymnasts, with four competing on each apparatus and the top three scores counting toward the team total. There were standout individual results among the performance 1 gymnasts, out of 55 competitors: Ava earned a joint fifth place on bars; Jessica placed 18th on bars and 22nd on range and conditioning; and Chelsea achieved a personal best on bars and beam, exceeding her result from the Isle of Man qualifiers. In performance grade 2, Lora Markova, being the only gymnast who qualified from the Isle of Man, competed as an individual and delivered an exceptional performance. Among 53 competitors, she placed: 15th on vault, 15th on bars, and 11th on floor; third on range and conditioning, and second on beam, missing the top spot by only 0.1 points. Her results on beam and range and conditioning earned her two British Gymnastics medals - an incredible accomplishment and a proud moment for the island and the club.

Manx Gymnastics hosted this year's Isle of Man Grades, showing all different levels from the gymnasts. We had gymnasts in preparation, development and performance grades. It was lovely to see the range in ages again continuing to compete at these levels.  We had a lot of success again this year, bringing home many titles and achieving our own personal goals! All of the girls did a great job and performed well. As always there are things to improve on, but we couldn't be prouder of the improvements, even small that our gymnasts show. A special mention to the girls who successfully qualified to attend National Finals in May. Jessica, Ava and Chelsea will be competing against the best of the Uk in Performance 1 and Lora will also be competing against the best of the UK but in performance 2. Super achievement girls!

Club grades is most of our gymnasts' first competition of the year. Naturally it comes with some nerves and fears. These are shaken off quickly once the competition got going. Many new skills were successfully competed and many targets completed. A few hiccups here and there but a great focus for the competitions ahead.  We had girls competing from ages 7 to 18, a fantastic show of longevity in the sport and in our gym. Grades competed this weekend covered all categories; preparation, development and performance. We saw great team spirit and enthusiasm from so many competitors.

What a way to start 2025! 4 of our performance girls travelled to Newcastle Gymnastics Academy with one of their coaches (Valery), to compete their grade for the first time this competition season. The competition helped them gain experience and showcase how well they've been progressing.  They were able to compete well against others from around the UK and secure medals in both apparatus and overall positions.
